Data Analyst

Role: Data Analyst at 71point4

Location: Cape Town, South Africa

About the role

We are looking for an analyst to join our consulting team.

71point4 works across a variety of sectors, using data to answer complex research, economic and business questions. Our work involves a wide range of data, from survey and administrative data to event driven data and large transactional datasets. Projects can involve research and economic analysis, data exploration and modelling, building dashboards, developing data pipelines, or creating analytics infrastructure for clients.

You will work on projects from end to end: helping to scope the question, getting hold of and understanding the data, cleaning and interrogating it, analysing it, and turning the results into something a client can use. The final output might be a report, presentation, dashboard or other analytical tool, and you will often be involved in building that output yourself.

The role has scope for both research and client facing work, as well as more technical data analysis and engineering. We are interested in people who are comfortable working across these areas and who want to develop their skills over time.

Your job is not only to answer questions with the data at your disposal, but to find new datasets, identify better ways of approaching a problem and ask better questions.

This is an in office position. Travel may be required.
