Chess in Khayelitsha

71point4 > Chess in Khayelitsha

About

There is perhaps no better game for developing critical thinking skills, concentration and the art of winning or losing gracefully, than chess. Participation in the game is not limited by age, income or educational background; with a good teacher and a chess set, any child can learn to play chess.

During 2019, 71point4 started funding chess extra-mural activities at Impendulo Primary School and at the Nazeema Isaacs Library in Khayelitsha. This extra mural has grown in both success and popularity, owing largely to the dedication of Coach Sidwell Mayekiso from the African Chess Lounge.
